. I will not be running on volunteer GEAR board in 2010 for Track operator/ President/ webmaster , also only one of 6 current board members running for next year. Please join GEAR get involved and keep racing continuing for the youth of Wichita .Visit GEAR page for job description and if you have any questions contact Dayna Brown current track operator/ President / webmaster kansas_bmx@cox.net Voting of board is in October that is in 6 weeks. Get together six people and run for the board positions to keep racing at EPBMX. . We have been at EPBMX for almost 10 years and now is time for us to move on . Our son Josh ,who did race has quit racing and now is in college. Emery Park BMX EPBMX has been operating the BMX race track at Emery Park in partnership with the Wichita Parks and Recreation Department since 1985 . We provide our services to hundreds of Wichita Metropolitan Area children and their families each week. We are a non-profit organization staffed 100% by community volunteers, and over these years we have built this facility entirely through the hard work of our many volunteers and through the generous donations of cash, materials and labor from local individuals and businesses. GEAR, Inc. DBA as Emery Park BMX is a tax exempt, non-profit organization under Section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code (Tax ID #48-1194522). Donations are tax deductible under Section 170 of the Internal Revenue Service Code. G. E. A. R. [Group Effort Association for Riders] Is staffed entirely by volunteers and is an American Bicycle Association" ABA" sanctioned track and abides by the rules and regulations as set forth by the ABA Emery Park BMX provides competitive BMX racing for both boys, girls and adults from ages 3 to 50+ BMX racing is an individual sport and is designed to build self confidence and self esteem in anyone who participates. Races are organized according to age group and skill levels, so everyone gets the opportunity to compete on a fair and competitive basis. Even beginner riders have the chance to race safely with other new riders. All riders get an awesome First Time Rider Trophy” , NO MATTER how you finish in your first race. Upcoming Special Events Race on Fridays Sign ups: 6:30 - 7:30 PM. Race ASAP , usually around 8 PM, Cost $9.00 Trophy / Stamps for 1st family member each additional family member only $7 . Also race class and cruiser 1st bike $9 entry fee then second bike $7. We do offer other special races dates
Gates 2009 Tuesday 6-8 PM Cost $4.00 per rider. Must be ABA member and follow ABA rules. Use gates to continue on weekly basis. Except 1st Tuesday of the month we run
Track Work Days On 2nd & 4th Thursday of each month at 6 PM until done . If you help on track clean up will receive coupon for $4 off race fees or can be used towards gates. 2009 Volunteer Coupons only good at EPBMX, NO cash value .
